Changes: Spring 2021
A few changes coming to CarmenCanvas and CarmenZoom for Spring 2021
Changes coming to CarmenCanvas
-
- Rich Content Editor (RCE): The content editor within CarmenCanvas is the text editor used to add and edit text, links, images, etc. on a page within CarmenCanvas. Want to try out the new RCE before your spring courses? We’ve provided a quick tutorial with steps and gif to walk through how to turn the new RCE on in any current courses you have. The new RCE will automatically be on in your spring 21 courses. Find additional information about the new RCE in this OIT news posting.
-
- Assignment Enhancements and Upload/Record Media: Additional changes coming to CarmenCanvas are assignment enhancements for students – allowing clarity on assignment workflow, drafts and saved submissions – and upload/record media storage changes. Find additional information about these changes in this OIT news posting.
Changes coming to CarmenZoom
-
- Recording Retention: Beginning February 5, 2021 the retention rate for recordings made through CarmenZoom will be 120 days. To retain recordings longer, recordings should be downloaded and stored alternatively. Check out more information about CarmenZoom retention rates in this OIT news posting.
-
- Recording views: all views (speaker and gallery) are no longer being recorded automatically when you record a zoom session, unless you update your settings. Visit this posting to learn how to update your recording view settings.
-
- Live Transcripts (closed captions): Did you know you can enable live transcripts (captioning) in your live Zoom sessions? Check out this resource on enabling the live transcripts within your CarmenZoom account. Please note that these live transcripts do not meet the accessibility policy for an instance where an accommodation has been requested or as a substitute for including an accessibility accommodation statement; further clarity is provided in this article on CarmenZoom Live Transcripts.
