QM11 Guided Self-Review – Description and Rationale

Evaluating a Description and Rationale

When evaluating the rationale for your course, you’ll want to make sure you have explained why this course is important or helpful to the student either in the context of the program or in the context of your field. Essentially, you are giving the student a reason to take your class.

If you’re stuck for a good reason, think about why you think it’s an important course to offer, or put yourself in your students’ shoes and think about what might have influenced you to take this course.

To evaluate the description, it should include the general goal or big idea of the course and describe how you will get there. Mention major projects or big ideas that students should ultimately take away from the course.
